LIBRARY LAPTOP STORAGE & CHARGING REFERENCE & PICS
GALE BORDEN PUBLIC LIBRARY ELGIN, ILLINOIS
To Whom It May Concern:
Gail Borden Public Library District opened the South Elgin Branch library in July 2016. Because of space limitations, 4,275 sq. ft., we determined that installing a laptop dispenser would result in the most efficient use of space while providing our customers the ability to use computers throughout the library. After reviewing several vendors and options, we decided to purchase the D-Tech eVendit Laptop Self-Service Vending System (12 bays) through Murphy Security Solutions.
The eVendit securely stores any device charged with an AC adaptor giving us the flexibility to change out the devices in the future; currently we dispense DELL laptops. In our experience, the unit is highly user-friendly. Our customers find the check-in and check-out process easy to understand and very little staff intervention is necessary during daily operations.
Murphy Security Solutions along with D-Tech provided our staff with on-site training before we opened the Branch to the public. We did experience some minor software issues during the first week, however, Murphy Security Solutions worked with our staff and D-Tech to troubleshoot and resolve the problems quickly.
Overall, our customers are enjoying the convenience, reliability, and ease of use of the eVendit system.
